SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS

A short fiction film and call to action in support of a community under attack.

As of September 25, 2025, 71.5% of people held in ICE detention had no criminal conviction. That’s more than 2 out of every 3 people taken off streets, from cars and from the hallways of immigration court houses, removed from families, held in detention and often deported. The majority of the convictions that do exist are for minor offenses such as traffic violations. This data comes directly from the U.S. Administration through FOIA requests by Tracreports.org, standing in stark contrast to administration rhetoric about only detaining violent criminals.

There are many people and organizations offering information, resources and ways to directly help and raise awareness. Here are a few:

THE DISAPPEARED

Our film features images created by graphic artist/designer Pauline Mateos with the activist organization Refuse Fascism LA. The Disappeared is an ongoing multidisciplinary art project that examines the human cost of immigration enforcement in the United States. The project presents the names and faces of people who were taken by ICE agents and detained without due process in facilities across the country. Many were deported to other countries without legal recourse or a pathway to reunite with their families. Others remain unaccounted for, having disappeared into a system with little transparency or accountability.

The Disappeared is a traveling art installation that needs support. You can help prevent these victims of ICE from vanishing without a trace.
